Metabolic risk-markers and gut hormones in subjects with Metabolic Syndrome: modulation by passive hypoxic preconditioning
Extensive evidence has shown intermittent hypoxic preconditioning to be a safe, efficacious method for prevention and treatment of hypertension, CAD, obesity, modifying glycolysis, fat utilization, glucose tolerance, antioxidant capacities through different pathways (HIF1α, VEGF, JUN, TNFα, IRS1 etc). We develop a new mode of hypoxic training, with repeated episodes of hypoxia (11% O2 via face mask) interspersed with hyperoxic episodes (30% O2) instead of normoxic periods - interval hypoxic-hyperoxic training (IHHT).
